“I have a different perspective towards life and the way I observe things always kept my imagination highly entertained and inspired.”
Born and bred in Malta, the 23 year old, blue haired, outgoing and fun-loving Dria started her career in tattooing with Guy Lee Tattoo Familee only two years ago.
Being surrounded and inspired by artists in her family for as long as she can remember, Dria always wanted to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. She studied art at Mcast College in many forms such as stone, fine-arts and photography but after graduating with a Higher National Diploma in Photography at the young age of 19, she still felt that her heart belonged to drawing and painting.
Dria finally decided to pursue her dream of becoming a tattoo artist back in 2014 when she got the opportunity to do an apprenticeship with the owner of the shop himself, Guy Lee.
Dria’s style of tattooing is greatly inspired by the Neo-Traditional way of tattooing however she blends her own style, ideas and character with it. Dria mixes her weird, fertile imagination with bold lines and colours to create her designs.
"Tattooing has become a lifestyle for me, I feel very lucky to be doing something I love every day. I see it as a privilege to mark someone's skin and I feel that a bond is created between the artist and every client. Tattooing for me is a form of self-expression, whether it is to mark a phase of one's life or to show a love of something special to you. I feel that I can express myself through the designs I draw up and find it interesting to put together client's ideas and make them work to fit their body. The look on the client's face when the work is finished is priceless and I feel very honoured to have given the person something to keep for the rest of their journey through life." – October 2016
